| Jesus The Messiah Pt. 1 |
How can you be so sure that Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah?Thank you for inquiry as to how to respond with an answer to the rabbinical maze of who the mystery messiah may be. In reference to your brief e-mail let me pick out or breakdown for you the simple side of the picture to better help you try to understand the numb mindedness behind this confused Rabbis thinking. Please believe me when I say that trying to understand a Rabbis thinking is an uphill battle for sanity with no reason nor rhyme to the conclusion of the discussed matter whatever it may be. The syndrome of two Jews in discussion render three different opinions is so true. So be it! Lets look for a moment at this matter of the "born of a virgin" statement. In Hebrew there is no conclusive word for virgin when it relates to the messiah. The word for virgin is the Hebrew word "Alma" which simply stated means "Young maiden". So the virgin birth is not a virgin birth in rabbinical thinking but simply birth given by a young maiden. Forget this rabbit trail and present this question for a change of thought. For the parameter of discussion use the book of Daniel and Isaiah. Those swords should do the work just fine.
This scripture from Daniel poses several answers to unasked questions if looked for. The 25th verse gives us a time frame to work within. The rebuilding of the city of Jerusalem destroyed by the Babylonians is being referenced here. The commandment to restore and build Jerusalem occurred in 446 BCE. This commandment was issued by none other than King Artaxerxes in 446. (Note Nehemiah 2:1-8) Send to me a request for a paper describing the chronology of this timeline and I'll send it to you. So now we have a specific time period for the coming of the Messiah just as the scriptures revealed. 69 prophetic weeks, 69 time periods of 7 years each=446 BCE.
Now take note to verse 26;
This denotes the sacking of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in 70 CE. by Titus and the Roman Legions. So Messiah whoever he may be had to come before the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. So if there is a Messiah he had to come prior to 70 C.E. Ask the Rabbi who this individual may be this one referred to as "Messiah the Prince" in verse 25. It sure was not Bar-kaf-ba who claimed to be the messiah in 156C.E. Just read the chronology of scripture and the answer is very clear! Another point for the Rabbis consideration follows.
Who is being refereed to here in Isaiah? Who is the he in this messianic writing of Isaiah? Unless you are led by the Lord when you ask who is the he being refereed to you'll be stirring up a proverbial hornets nest. Should you find that challenging Rabbis is your cup of tea please go to your local Jewish book store and order a copy of "You take Jesus and I'll take God". This is the Jewish primer for refuting a missionary approach to the age-old question of who is Jesus. Before you can defeat your enemy you must first know his battle plan or strategy. They, the Rabbis, know yours now learn theirs. Be of good cheer for they are severally deceived but as for you you have the mind of Christ so sic-um Holy Ghosts tiger. Onward Christian Soldier. In my not so humble opinion this is not an arena for the timid because only the bold Holy Ghost fired can survive. Don't expect to win you are only there to sow seed for the Holy Spirit to give the increase. In that sense you win because you have read the back of the book. When in need of good legal council pick a Jewish lawyer, but when in need of spiritual insight generally skirt the local Rabbi. Dick Reuben |
